Opportunities for students enrolled in professional health programs

The Student Health and Wellness in Halifax is an interprofessional health centre providing primary health and mental health services to the students of Dalhousie and King’s. We offer supervised training opportunities for students enrolled in professional health programs leading to healthcare licensure.

Counselling Practicum

Practicum training is available for Masters and Doctoral students in psychology, counselling and social work.

For further information about full-time or part-time counselling placements, please contact Dr. Heather Patterson.

Please note: Counselling practicum applications are due four months in advance of the placement.


Doctoral Psychology Residency Program

Dalhousie Student Health and Wellness in partnership with the Dalhousie Centre for Psychological Health offer an intensive 12-month training (or part-time equivalent) experience for advanced graduate students in Clinical Psychology and in Counselling Psychology programs.
