Dalhousie's Killam Prize Winners

Five Killam Prizes are awarded annually to distinguished Canadian scholars in the categories of health sciences, natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities. The prizes are given in recognition of distinguished careers and awarded to recipients who will continue to make substantial contributions.

Dorothy Killam Fellowships

Dorothy Killam Fellowships grant $160,000 over two years to researchers pursuing projects of broad significance so they can focus on and accelerate the pace of their work. The Dorothy Killam Fellow is a leading researcher whose superior, ground-breaking, best-in-class research stands to have significant impact on a national or global scale.

Faculty of Science Killam Professorships

The Faculty of Science Killam Professorships were established by the faculty in recognition of the financial support provided by the Killam endowment at Dalhousie. Up to ten professorships are awarded to faculty members for their outstanding careers for five years. Each professorship is accompanied by an award of $2,000.

Faculty of Science Killam Prize

The Faculty of Science Killam Professorships were established by the faculty in recognition of the financial support provided by the Killam endowment at Dalhousie. One prize is awarded annually to enhance the careers of the faculty’s most promising scientists who have obtained their doctorate within the preceding eleven years. The prize is accompanied by an award of $2,000.
