Certificates

Customize your degree and build skills in a specialized area.

Concurrent certificates

Concurrent certificates are completed alongside your degree requirements and require enrolment in a graduate or undergraduate program.

From Animal Behaviour to Web and Mobile Development, Dalhousie has dozens of certificates that you can study alongside your degree. When you graduate, the certificate will be noted on your transcript and parchment in recognition of focused study, knowledge, and skills.

Some certificates are only available to students in particular programs, so make sure that you review the eligibility requirements.

Stand-alone certificates

Stand-alone certificates don’t require enrollment in an academic program to learn more about a topic that interests you, or to enhance your existing skills and knowledge.

Undergraduate stand-alone certificates

To be eligible for an undergraduate stand-alone certificate, you must meet Dalhousie's entrance requirements, and well as any certificate-specific requirements, and apply to Dal as a non-degree student. We offer stand-alone certificates in a variety of topics and disciplines, including:

  • Organic Agriculture
  • Integrated Pest Management
  • Sustainable Soil Management
  • Aquaculture

  • Animal Welfare
