Medical Research (MSc)
Bridge the gap between clinical and basic medical research.
Why choose this program?
Major advances in biomedical research are now being made in an environment where basic scientists and research-trained clinicians are interacting. There is a critical need to increase the number of such trained physicians locally, regionally, and nationally.
You will concentrate primarily on thesis research and bridge the gap between clinical practice and medical research. In addition, this program offers training in clinical research, which is not otherwise formally offered at Dalhousie.
Our program offers various areas of specialization such as basic science, clinical research, epidemiology, population health, and medical education. You’ll have access to organized research infrastructure, the services of a research associate, various internal stipends, and a dedicated research space.
Careers
This program is designed for people who will become clinical specialists, but who plan careers as clinician scientists.
Admission requirements
You'll need to meet the Faculty of Graduate Studies minimum requirements as well as any program-specific admissions requirements before you can apply.
Financial information
At Dalhousie, we want our students to focus on their studies, rather than worry about their personal finances. We offer competitive tuition rates and funding programs to support graduate students in almost all of our degree programs.
