Canada Research Chairs

Dalhousie University is home to an incredibly talented group of chair holders who play a critical role in positioning our university as a leader in research.

About the program

The Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP) is a tri-agency initiative (i.e., SSHRC, NSERC, and CIHR) that invests approximately $311 million per year to make Canada one of the world’s top countries in research and development.

The Canada Research Chairs program supports and attracts the world’s best researchers in the fields of engineering and the natural sciences, health sciences, humanities and social sciences. In addition to conducting research that improves our depth of knowledge and quality of life, chairholders train the next generation of leaders in their fields through student supervision and teaching.
