Gender equity framework

As detailed in Dalhousie University’s Employment Equity Policy, Dalhousie is committed to equity and inclusion and has instituted active measures to eliminate discrimination and to reverse the historic under-representation of women as well as Indigenous peoples (especially Mi’kmaq), persons of Black/African descent (especially African Nova Scotians), and other members of racialized groups, persons with disabilities, and members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

At Dalhousie, the Employment Equity Council, People and Culture including the Office for Equity & Inclusion, and the Employment Equity Leads within Dalhousie units work together to provide advice on the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Employment Equity Policy and Dalhousie’s Employment Equity Plan. Dalhousie faculty, staff, and students also have access to training opportunities on gender equality and unconscious biases.
