License Agreement
Our Process for Licensing to an Industry Partner
- Timeline to completion:
expect 2-3 months minimum
- Parties involved:
OCIE manager, researcher(s), industry license partner
A Licence Agreement is used to conduct technology transfer and commercialization in instances where Dalhousie has taken responsibility for IP through an Intellectual Property Transfer Agreement with the Dal inventor team. A License Agreement is required when a researcher has already invented software, materials, or techniques and assigned the technology to Dalhousie, and a company wants to incorporate it into its product line, systems, or processes. This agreement issues an industry partner a license to use that technology under negotiated terms & conditions.
*An OCIE manager will assist in navigating the process map below.
