Dalhousie’s Master of Information explores the intersections between people, information and technology, empowering you to lead in the changing context of info, user-centered design, digital innovation, and more. Our flexible curriculum and program delivery allows you to tailor your degree to fit your goals, while our small class sizes offer you access to our passionate faculty who invest in your personal and professional success.

This is a direct-entry program, meaning all undergraduate degrees are acceptable, and no experience is necessary for admission. Students can directly enter the profession after graduating.

You'll need to meet the Faculty of Graduate Studies minimum requirements as well as any program-specific admissions requirements before you can apply.


Applicants must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree recognized by Dalhousie University.

Financial information

Along with tuition rates that balance affordability and value, the MI program has a number of entrance, in-program and convocation awards available to students to help fund their education.

Students may also apply to awards and scholarships external to Dalhousie.

Program options

Thesis: For students interested in research, a thesis option is available which allows you to pursue independent and original research.

Work-integrated learning: Opportunities are available to allow students to take their in-course learning and apply it in a real-world setting.

All graduate programs at Dalhousie are collaboratively delivered by a home Faculty and the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
