Be Well at Dal

Be Well is an integrated, campus-wide approach to well-being for everyone at Dalhousie: students, faculty, and staff.

A healthier future

Dalhousie has committed to campus well-being through highlighting wellness and support in our strategic plan, the Third Century Promise and through signing on to the Okanagan Charter as a health promoting university.

Building on the work of the Dal self-study [PDF-2.8MB] devoted to campus health and well-being completed in 2020 and many other consultations and reports, we strive to integrate plans and resources to support a campus-wide approach to well-being for everyone at Dalhousie: students, faculty and staff. A backdrop for this work will be the National Standards for post-secondary student mental health and for healthy workplaces.

The Be Well team has consulted widely to raise awareness of the two National Standards and Dalhousie’s commitment to well-being. We heard about some of the many initiatives already underway across Dalhousie and developed a summary of these activities. We have assembled a working group of passionate colleagues who will contribute to prioritizing projects and developing a plan to strengthen the well-being of our community.
