Purpose
The purpose of the Senate Discipline Committee (SDC) is to hear all complaints or allegations of violations of academic integrity regulations and non-academic misconduct by students in accordance with the jurisdiction and procedures established by Senate.
The Senate Discipline Committee has jurisdiction to hear:

Complaints referred to the Senate Discipline Committee under the Code of Student Conduct

Allegations of academic offences referred to the Senate Discipline Committee under the Faculty Discipline Procedures Concerning Allegations of Academic Offences
3
Reports referred to the Senate Discipline Committee under the Sexualized Violence Policy
Membership
Elected voting members:
- Eight faculty members, one of whom shall be elected chair on an annual basis by the members of the committee.
Student voting members
- Four student members appointed annually by the Dalhousie Student Union; and
- One student member appointed annually by the University of King’s College Students’ Union none of whom are members of the Senate Appeals Committee.

Code of Student Conduct
The Code of Student Conduct:
- Defines student rights, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Identifies activities and behaviours that constitute non-academic misconduct.
- Ensures transparency, consistency, and predictability in policies and procedures
- Identifies the process by which student non-academic misconduct will be addressed.
