Why Dal?
Amazing city with exciting research opportunities close to home.
What inspires me
My research involves Shigella flexneri, an infectious colitis agent and leading cause of diarrheal disease. I am investigating the basis for “colonization resistance” against Shigella to understand how the resident microbiota confers protection in the mammalian GI tract. We aim to better understand how alterations in the microbiome influence disease susceptibility in our model of infectious colitis.
