Funding your education

All graduate students are supported by stipends from faculty research grants and competitive scholarships. We are only able to accept students if stipends are available.

Tuition relief funding is also available for eligible students. There are a limited number of predoctoral and postdoctoral scholarships and fellowships available through local, provincial, and national funding agencies. The Faculty of Graduate Studies also provides the prestigious Killam Memorial Scholarships on a competitive basis.

External scholarships

Although it’s not a requirement, if you are holding or are eligible for external scholarships you will have an advantage in the selection process. Early application and identification of potential supervisors will increase the number of choices available to you.

International students

Students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents are required to pay a differential fee per term. Learn more about differential fees.
