We create blended cohorts, with experienced nurses, surgeons, dentists and pharmacists learning alongside recent graduates from the full range of subjects: you do not need a healthcare background to excel on this program.

Program Structure

Taken full time, the program lasts 16 months, from September through to the following December.  To take the program part-time, you will usually take 2 courses per term, which would mean classes on 1 or 2 days a week; you can also do your residency on an extended, part-time basis.  For full details of the learning experience, and to hear from Professors and current students about the learning experience, see our Curriculum page (link to curriculum page, opens in new tab).

HESA 6390: Health Administration Residency

The residency is a pivotal component of the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program.  We will match you with a senior health executive to serve as your preceptor through-out the 4-month placement which is tailored to your career goals. 

Part-time students can complete their residency in a number of ways, often working with a past or current employer to develop their leadership skills. 

Host organizations may include, but are not limited to, the Department of Health, district and regional health organizations and other public-sector organizations.

HESA 6390: Health Administration Residency
