How to apply

Attention: Changes have been made to the prerequisite requirements and application deadlines when applying to enter the program in the fall of 2025.

Applications for the Fall 2025 intake to the MSc(OT) Entry to Practice program are now closed. 

Admissions requirements are reviewed annually and the admissions requirements from previous years may not apply. Please monitor our website for up-to-date information.

The MSc(OT) – Entry level program is a fulltime, in-person program that lasts 24 consecutive months, starting each September. It is designed for individuals who will have completed a 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution by June 1 and who wish to become occupational therapists.  Successful applicants will be required to participate in both fieldwork and traditional on-site courses.  We welcome applications from diverse academic backgrounds.


Enrolment in the program is currently limited to 66 students and is determined through a competitive ranking process.

Admissions Timeline

  • September 1: MSc(OT) application submission process opens.
  • December 1: Dalhousie University Admissions Application & application fee.
  • January 31: MSc(OT) Supplementary Application form, all previous post-secondary official transcripts, 2 Academic reference letters.
  • April: First round of offers will be issued
  • June 15: For applicants with courses ‘in-progress’ at the time of application, one copy of their official in-progress transcript must be received by January 31 and one copy of their final official transcript must be received by June 15. The final transcript must include final grades for all degrees and prerequisite requirements and the awarded degree.
