Dalhousie is home to the World Health Organization/Pan American Health Organization (WHO/PAHO) Collaborating Centre on Health Workforce Planning and Research.
The WHO/PAHO Collaborating Centre was stablished in 2008 and is led by director Gail Tomblin Murphy, a professor of nursing at Dalhousie. Research is focused on the adapting health care workforces adapt to the needs of patients in various countries and health care systems.
