MA Thesis: "Quietly Present in the Land and Wind": Maria Schneider's Musical Land Ethic. Dalhousie University, 2018.
Why Dal?
I was drawn to Dalhousie by the excellent faculty of top-notch musicologists who are truly experts in their fields. The fact that I already lived in Halifax was also a nice bonus.
What Inspires Me?
The lush, wide-screen landscapes heard in the music of Maria Schneider. Having been recently exposed to the new and burgeoning fields of sound studies and ecomusicology, I am interested in the connection between the environment and musical composition.
