MA Thesis: Joculatores Domini: Music and Franciscan Spirituality in Hagiographic and Liturgical Sources
Why Dal?
I completed my undergraduate degree in the Bachelor of Music program at Dal and had gotten to know the faculty. This, combined with the location and my interest in musicology, made the program a good fit.
What Inspires Me?
I have always been interested in and inspired by the spirituality of the Franciscan movement, a spirituality which integrates both body and soul. In the course of my musicological study, I have found that references to and representations of music and musical sound in Franciscan literary texts and art reflect the Franciscan spirituality, especially as an embodied spirituality.
