Industry & partnerships
MES students can take advantage of our large professional and academic network, which gives us access to institutions and organizations scattered across the globe. Many students undertake research on projects of importance to industry or government. This has included research:
- analyzing the life cycle environmental impacts of the Antarctic krill fishery conducted by Aker BioMarine of Norway
- for the Halifax Regional Municipality to understand the risk posed to homes by forest fire
- to understand the motivations of woodland owners to participate in the commercial timber market, with funding from Northern Pulp Nova Scotia Ltd
- for Agrimarine, the makers of a unique aquaculture technology, of the resource and environmental impacts of salmon grown in their tanks.
