Description: The Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia is a multidisciplinary organization that provides community services to enhance integration for newcomers. The organization covers a range of services, which include English tutoring, workplace integration, women’s health and mental illness workshops. This is also an opportunity for health care providers interested in newcomer community outreach and research opportunities. The organization is the largest immigrant-serving agency in Atlantic Canada with over 115 staff members from more than 30 countries.

The Wood Street Health Care Center

Description: This clinic provides services for children under the care of the Department of Community Services. Youth admitted to the Wood Street Centre present with a wide range of complex behavioural and/or emotional challenges that are addressed through individualized treatment plans. There are specific health care providers dedicated to newcomer health to tackle cultural and communication barriers.
