Our Priorities

Safe Assured is a research and outreach program with the primary goal of ensuring the reliability of our community pharmacies. We do this through collaborating with our community partners to track, address and learn from errors – like receiving the wrong medication or dosage – which occur in pharmacies across Canada.

While rare, medication errors do happen. It is therefore best to catch these errors before medications are in the hands of patients in order to reduce the harm to Canadians and to learn from our mistakes, so these errors do not happen in the future.

We conduct research to help and encourage the development of error reporting in community pharmacies, and to ensure these systems are enhancing the overall health care system. Safe Assured is helping pharmacists work towards making their business practices safer, more reliable and more resilient.
