In the Howlett lab we are looking for motivated students and trainees at all levels of education.

Undergraduate Opportunities

We take several undergraduate students each year. These students may be summer, honours or experiential learning students. We also occasionally employ students on a part time basis during the year, depending on their qualifications and our research needs.     

Masters Students

We take MSc students who are genuinely interested in research and can make a two-year commitment to the lab. Further details on graduate studies in Pharmacology at the Masters level can be found on the Pharmacology website. 

Doctoral Students

We take PhD students who are highly qualified and are interested in a 4-5 year commitment to research in the lab. Doctoral students would generally have an MSc degree, although it is possible to transfer from the Masters to the PhD program within Dalhousie. Post-Doctoral Fellows

The Howlett Lab welcomes applications from motivated and responsible post-doctoral fellows. Qualified applicants can apply for the prestigious Reynolds Post-Doctoral Fellowship award in the Department of Pharmacology. Further details on this award, which is exclusive to post-docs in the Pharmacology Department, can be found on the Pharmacology website.
