In her role as Research Manager, Sherri Fay supports GMR researchers and team members with the planning, execution and oversight of their research projects. She works with research leads to set strategic directions for their programs and has a wealth of experience with grant applications, protocol development, human resources management, research finances, setting and tracking study timelines and milestones, as well as research reporting and dissemination. Prior to becoming GMR's Research Manager in 2005, Sherri was the National Study Coordinator for the Video Imaging Synthesis of Treating Alzheimer’s disease (VISTA) study. Before that, she coordinated the Atlantic Canada Alzheimer’s Disease Investigation of Expectations (ACADIE). Both studies, led by Dr. Kenneth Rockwood, explored the effectiveness of anticholinesterase therapy in older adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease using a patient-centred outcome measure (goal attainment scaling) to track progress on treatment goals set by the study participants. Sherri holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Dalhousie University and has the distinction of being GMR’s longest serving research employee (since 1998).
