Selena Maxwell

Postdoctoral Fellow

Selena is a Postdoctoral Fellow with Geriatric Medicine Research since 2022. She completed her BSc (Honours Microbiology & Immunology) in 2017 and her PhD (Anatomy & Neurobiology) in 2022 at Dalhousie University. Her doctoral work focused on functional neuroanatomy, examining the relationship between neuropathological burden and clinical symptoms in neurodegeneration and aging. Presently, her work examines the interplay of frailty and cognition, using neuroepidemiology. Her research interests include neurodegeneration, aging, frailty, the cholinergic system, executive dysfunction, and cognitive resilience.
