Mariana Gonzalez-Lara is a PhD student in Health at Dalhousie University under the supervision of Dr. Scott Kehler. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the Autonomous University of Hidalgo (Mexico) and an MSc in Epidemiology from the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM) under the supervision of Dr. Mario Ulises Perez-Zepeda.

Her interest in research on aging started at the National Institute of Geriatrics in Mexico, where she had the opportunity to explore how diet and nutritional status influence the aging process, especially in sarcopenia and frailty. Mariana’s current work focuses on analyzing frailty trajectories and changes in cardiovascular disease, as well as determining dietary patterns and their association with frailty.
