Jodie has a passion for improving the lives of older adults that started in childhood, crafting and chatting with her great-grandmother in the manor. With a Bachelor of Science from Acadia University, a Masters of Family Studies and Gerontology from Mount Saint Vincent University, and currently working on a Master of Health Administration at Dalhousie University, Jodie brings a strong academic background to her role.

After ten years of frontline experience in Long-Term Care and Retirement Living, Jodie began working with the Geriatric Medicine Research team in 2019. Jodie has developed an understanding of the needs and complex challenges faced by older adults. She volunteered with older adults in Kenya and Colombia, enriching her understanding of how different cultures view memory loss and social vulnerability.

Jodie is coordinating the following studies: Cross-Validation of the Free Cog Cognitive Assessment Tool in a Canadian Memory Clinic, electronic Frailty Index-Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (eFI-CGA), and Comprehensive Assessment of Neurodegeneration and Dementia (COMPASS-ND).
