Heng is an emerging scholar with postdoctoral training in geriatric medicine research and a member of the Social Research, Policy, and Practice section of the Gerontology Society of America. From 2019 to 2023 she held teaching assistant, research assistant, and instructor roles at the University of Nebraska Omaha for undergraduate, graduate courses, and research on Working with Minority Elderly; Introduction to Gerontology; Senior Living Community; Comparative Global Aging. This experience developed her expertise in implementing and evaluating transformational changes in frailty and population mortality. Her research focus is on measures of physiological and socioeconomic well-being and how levels of inequality by age have implicated retirement income policy and social services.
