Heng is an emerging scholar with postdoctoral training in Geriatric Medicine Research, supervised by Dr. Kenneth Rockwood, and she is a member of both the Health Science section and the Social Research, Policy, and Practice section of the Gerontological Society of America. From 2019 to 2023, she held teaching assistant, research assistant, and instructor roles at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses and conducted research on topics such as Working with Minority Elderly, Introduction to Gerontology, Senior Living Communities, and Comparative Global Aging. This experience helped develop her expertise in implementing and evaluating transformational changes in frailty and population mortality. Her research focuses on measures of physiological and socioeconomic well-being, as well as how levels of inequality by gender, age, and ethnicity have impacted public policies and social services.
