Bridging the Rural-Urban Chasm: Dalhousie University Study Reveals Generational Gulf in Confidence Towards Sustainable Farming
Halifax, February 12, 2024 – In response to recent events in Europe regarding farmers' protests and amidst Canada's ongoing agricultural debate, Dalhousie University's Agri-Food Analytics Lab, in partnership with Leger, has released new research shedding light on the current rural-urban disconnect. The study, based on a survey of over 1,600 respondents conducted in early February 2024, explores the varying perspectives across different generations regarding the stewardship of Canada's farmlands by farmers, uncovering a notable generational gap in perceptions.
