Tonight: Stanfield Conversation


The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is hosting this year's Stanfield Conversation: "The US Election and Democracy's Global Fate," tonight beginning at 7 p.m. The event features:

  • Doug Saunders, Globe and Mail international affairs columnist
  • Dr. Debra Thompson, Canada Research Chair in Racial Inequality in Democratic Societies and Associate Professor of Political Science at McGil
  • Piya Chattopadhyay, the host of CBC Radio Canada's The Sunday Magazine

The event is free and open to the public.

Flags lowered on campus

Campus flags are lowered today from sunrise to sundown to mark the memorial service for Dr. Ron Stewart. For the Dalhousie and campus community, a celebration of life and reception will be held in Halifax tonight from 6 to 9 p.m.

Dalhousie's role in Nova Scotia's clean-energy industry was in the spotlight last week as battery scientist Jeff Dahn, VP Research Alice Aiken and others took part in a green energy showcase for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce's annual fall dinner.
