Power outage at Henry Hicks Saturday, November 9

The Henry Hicks building will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 9 for mandatory electrical maintenance.

Classroom and hallway closure Sexton B Building

In the Sexton B Building, the hallway between the classrooms B225, B226, B227 & B229 will be closed for regular access between 7 a.m. on November 11 to 7 a.m. on November 14, including a tentative power outage on November 13, for electrical work.

New surplus items added in Halifax & Truro

Dal has a surplus materials program where equipment, furniture and supplies that were purchased with university funds and are no longer needed can be bid on and reused. Visit dal.ca/surplus to learn more.

In Memoriam: Mary Morash‑Watts

It is with deepest sorrow that the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology announces the passing of Mary Morash-Watts. Mary was the department’s administrative secretary for 32 years prior to her retirement in 2009. We extend our deepest condolences to Mary’s family and friends.

Dr. Rita Orji wins Arthur B. McDonald Fellowship, NSERC's most prestigious prize for early‑career researchers

The fellowship recognizes the computer scientist's groundbreaking work in personalized and adaptive digital interventions powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning and is accompanied by a research grant of $250,000 over the next two years.
