The Faculty of Architecture and Planning invites applications for the position of Director of the School of Planning. The position will begin on January 1, 2025, for a term up to five years. We seek a dynamic and visionary leader committed to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and a culture of inclusivity. The Director of the School of Planning reports to the Dean of Architecture and Planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of the School’s strategic plan, aligning it with the broader goals of the Faculty and University. Champion initiatives that enhance the School’s reputation in planning education, research, and community engagement.
• Academic Excellence: Support faculty in achieving high standards in teaching, research, and professional activities. Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of innovative practices and technologies in the curriculum.
• Inclusive Leadership: Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the School, ensuring that all policies and practices foster a welcoming and supportive environment.
• Administrative Oversight: Manage the School’s administrative functions, including budget oversight, resource allocation, and facilities management. Ensure effective management of the School’s resources.
• Community Engagement: Build and sustain partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations. Represent the School to internal and external stakeholders to enhance its impact and relevance.
• Student Recruitment and Success: Lead efforts to attract a diverse body of domestic and international students. Develop strategies to enhance the School’s visibility and support student success through program development and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

• Tenured or tenure-track faculty member in Planning or a related discipline.
• Proven leadership experience and commitment to academic excellence,innovation and inclusivity.
• Strong skills in administration, budgeting, and personnel management.
