I am pleased to announce that we have successfully completed recruitments for two Assistant Vice-President positions in the Finance and Administration portfolio.

Back in October, on an interim basis, the Ancillary Services functions were shared between two acting Assistant Vice-Presidents: Housing & Campus Connections, and Athletics & Ancillary Services. I am pleased to share that we will be continuing with this arrangement into the future and that the two acting leaders, Linda Parker and Tim Maloney, have been appointed to their respective roles.

Linda Parker, Assistant Vice-President, Housing & Campus Connections, has worked at Dal for over 35 years, including 20 years in several leadership positions in the Housing, Conference, and Ancillary Services portfolio. Linda is widely recognized for her thorough, thoughtful, and collaborative leadership style. I am thrilled that Linda has accepted the role and will continue improving on-campus experience at Dalhousie as she shares her expertise and institutional knowledge. Linda’s portfolio in Housing and Campus Connections includes Student Housing and Residence Operations, Food Services, Events and Conference Services, beverage licenses, and administration for both DalCard and UPASS.

Tim Maloney, Assistant Vice-President, Athletics & Ancillary Services, has served as Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation for the past 10 years. Tim’s MBA and private sector experience have fostered strong business acumen and his collaborative, solutions-focused approach has identified many synergies through collaborative efforts with Ancillary Services over the years. Tim’s focus on positive workplace culture and continuous improvement will ensure the ongoing success of this unit, which includes Athletics & Recreation, the Dalhousie Bookstore, Arts Centre, Printing Services, and Parking.
