Dalhousie University is proud to provide the discounted Employee Bus Pass Program (XPass), which is a partnership between the Office of Sustainability and Halifax Transit, providing a 25% discount on all pass types. 

The XPass program has two sign-up and renewal periods annually (summer and winter), and membership runs for a full year. 

If you are interested in joining the program or renewing your XPass membership, complete enrollment during May to receive your pass for July, the summer enrolment period.

Current XPass Holders with June 2024 Expiration

• All current pass holders expiring in June 2024 must complete a renewal form [XPass Registration Form [PDF]] and email it to ebuspass@dal.ca to receive a new sticker for their pass to be valid until June 2025. 
• Registration is open from May 1 to May 31. If we do not receive your renewal form by May 31, 2024, you will be removed from the program and be unable to receive a sticker for the upcoming year. 

New Sign-ups

• To sign up, fill out an enrolment form and submit a photo for your ID to ebuspass@dal.ca
• Before signing up, please read all program details found on our website. 

Eligibility

• To be eligible to take part in this program you must be a Dalhousie permanent employee (full-time and part-time), full-time grant paid, post-docs, or an associated employee. 
• No casual employees will be able to participate. All employees must be paid directly through the Dalhousie payroll and be employed until the end of June 2025.  

Leaving the Program

• Current XPass holders who no longer wish to participate for the July 2024/2025 calendar year will be able to opt-out by providing written notice to ebuspass@dal.ca
