Information Technology Services (ITS) will launch the My Account site on Thursday, March 7, 2024. The new site will replace the current Password Management site, offering a fresh design and streamlined account request experience for Dalhousie students, faculty, and staff. After the launch, visiting Password Management will automatically redirect you to My Account.
The My Account site brings Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) to all Dalhousie NetIDs, helping you regain access to your account if you forget your password. With SSPR, you can use your existing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) options, as well as a non-Dalhousie email account, to reset your password.
Along with the new site launch, ITS is updating NetID password requirements to match the newly published Authentication and Password Standard. Going forward, NetID passwords must be at least 16 characters long and not contain insecure words, such as your own name.
The new My Account site, Self-Service Password Reset, and new password standard changes being implemented improve the services ITS provides to the Dalhousie community. These improvements leverage modern cloud technologies and current information security standards to create a safer digital environment.
