Employee Appreciation Week

Posted by Human Resources on February 5, 2024 in Human Resources

From February 26 – March 1 we will hold our second annual Employee Appreciation Week, in partnership with the University of King's College, to coincide with National Employee Appreciation Day that is held on the first Friday in March.

The week, sponsored by belairdirect (formerly Johnson Insurance), is intended to show our appreciation and say thank you to you, our faculty and staff, for all that you do to help make Dalhousie a special place to work, study, and live.

We will kick off the week on Monday, February 26 with a Zumba Dance Party and wrap it up on Friday, March 1 skating at the oval with the Dal Tiger. Check out our Events calendar next week for details on all the offerings available to you, like a Dalhousie Behind the Scenes tour, where you can visit the Glassblowing Lab, the Biology Greenhouse, the King's Chapel or even the President's house.

The Dalplex is offering free access for Dalhousie faculty and staff throughout the week (DalCard ID and waiver are required). And there will be prizes given away (through an online ballot form and paper ballots at in-person events).

As part of the week, we encourage you to send a Shout-Out to a fellow colleague or another member in the Dal community who deserves some recognition. The Shout-Out peer-to-peer recognition program was introduced in 2020 as a way to informally recognize someone in your faculty, department, or unit, or in the broader Dal community, who has helped you, your team, or Dalhousie, in some way – big or small.
