Parking goes on sale TODAY August 15, 2023.
Rates for 2023-2024 have increased slightly – you can view the new rates here https://www.dal.ca/dept/facilities/parking-at-dal/rates.html. To purchase a pass you will need to log in to the HotSpot website (same process as last year) at https://htsp.ca/ and you will need your Banner ID. A reminder that current passes are still valid until August 31, 2023.
There is no limit on the number of General parking passes sold, so there is no need to buy parking the day it goes on sale.
Renewal of Reserved spots can be done via Hotspot https://htsp.ca/ but new reserved spot requests, accommodations, and Ride Share have a different process and must first e-mail reserved.list@dal.ca
Here are a few key reminders:
- A General parking pass does not guarantee a parking spot. We sell far more passes than we have parking spots to allow flexibility for those who come and go to campus. Most general parking spots are taken by 8 a.m. You can learn about other transportation alternatives here https://www.dal.ca/dept/sustainability/smart-trip/transit/transit-passes.html
- Parking cannot be purchased for three of our parking lots: Reserved (outdoors), Reserved (CSB 4), and Reserved (Dunn). Those parking areas are full with a very long waitlist. You can join that list by emailing reserved.list@dal.ca
- Dalhousie no longer provides physical parking passes. The license plate connected to the purchase of the pass serves as proof of parking.
- Parking at the Truro Agricultural Campus is free and no passes are needed.
- Answers to all Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) can be found here https://www.dal.ca/dept/facilities/parking-at-dal/ParkingFAQs.html
