For more than a decade, Dalhousie has recognized faculties, departments and units that lead the way in workplace wellness through the Healthy Workplace Award.
This year, the Office of Advancement has won this Award, which recognizes a Dalhousie workplace whose practices promote and support employee health, engagement, and well-being. The Award is aligned with the, Workplace Wellness Strategy [PDF] which is part of the Inclusive Excellence pillar within the university’s strategic plan, Third Century Promise.
Some of their many initiatives include:
· Office space enhancements to foster both collaboration and allow for independent work
· Dedicated time in schedules for professional development and wellness activities
· Rallying around each other during a time of loss
· Establishing working groups devoted to sexualized violence prevention and to anti-Black racism
· Building on a purpose-driven workplace culture, making a difference for students, the Dal community, and beyond.
“The Office of Advancement is proud and grateful to be honoured with the 2023 Dalhousie Healthy Workplace Award” says Sheila Blair-Reid, acting Vice President, Advancement. “From PD/Wellness Afternoons to the leading work of our Sexualized Violence & Prevention Working Group, our high-performing team is pleased to see our efforts - across all dimensions of wellness - recognized through this honour.”
Congratulations Advancement! The Healthy Workplace Award winner will be formally recognized at the annual Dalhousie Legacy Awards being held this fall.
