Dalhousie has partnered with Halifax SmartTrip to launch a reduced-cost Halifax Transit bus pass program available to all permanent full-time and part-time employees, as well as associate employees.

Registration is open from May 15th - 29^th

Please see below for sign up and renewal. The 2023 form is on the SmartTrip myDal site (Login Required).

Registration Forms – All new summer participants will need to fill out the 2023 summer registration form. We highly encourage participants to apply for the program using a digital form. If you do not have access to a computer, please talk to your manager and they can provide assistance with filling out the form and sending it to our office. Office of Sustainability staff will be able to help via email or phone 647 383 8739 (Mon- Fri, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm). They will process your information. We will not be accepting paper forms.

New Participants – New participants will need to fill in the 2023 summer registration form and provide us with a picture of themselves for the XPass card. Please provide a headshot against a neutral backdrop saved as a jpg file.

2023 Summer Renewals - If you are a current member of the program (whether you are still active or opted out/suspended your card) you will need to fill in the 2023 summer registration form if you wish to use the program in July. If you have a card other than the XPass December 31, 2022, card you will need to send a new picture and receive an updated card. Members who have the updated card will receive a 2024 sticker.

​​​​​​​The easiest way to register/renew is to email ebuspass@dal.ca with your photo and completed form.

• Submit your registration form as a pdf file.
• Photos should be taken against a neutral background and saved as a jpg.

Please provide your work address (building name address and room number) on your 2023 registration form.

Leaving the Program:
Current pass holders who no longer wish to participate in the XPass program for the 2023/2024 calendar year will be able to opt-out. If you are planning on opting out, please check the Terms and Conditions below to ensure you are eligible for opt-out. A written notice is preferred over the lack of renewal. Your written notice can be submitted to ebuspass@dal.ca.
