Applications are sought for six (6) positions as an Instructor in the Internetworking Program. This Program is a cost-recovery course-based program responsible for the Master of Engineering in Internetworking (MEI) of the Faculty of Engineering at Dalhousie University.
Academic qualifications must include a Master of Engineering in Internetworking degree or a Doctoral Engineering Mathematics (Internetworking), and experience must include OS, IOT, virtual system experience, Python programming experience, experience in teaching in the Program’s courses and/or laboratories both in class and by eLearning, and internetworking system design using Cisco equipment. Suitable candidates should have at least five years of hands-on experience with Cisco network equipment. Industrial certification (held/previously held or in progress) and experience with mixed provider equipment is desirable. The appointee will be required to teach theory classes, to guide and advise students, to lead student projects, to guide students in their seminar topics, to design laboratory experiments, to assist in design of program content, to lead/teach in the Program’s laboratory experiments, to train students in co-curricular program activities, to undertake administrative duties including facility resource management, to deliver in-person classes and eLearning classes locally and internationally, and various other duties as required by the Program and assigned by a Program Director. This position requires a self-starter who is prepared to work as necessary, including limited evening, weekends, and early mornings to ensure that the students have an excellent laboratory and educational experience.
These are three-year limited-term appointments at 100% of full-time equivalency.
