Research Assistant Job Posting: Grant Paid Job Opportunity
“Understanding Critical Events and Influencers on Pharmacy Student Professional Identity Formation as a Result of Socialization in Introductory Experiential Education Placements” is a Dalhousie University, Pharmacy Endowment Fund Research Grant. This project aims to develop an understanding of critical events and influences of pharmacy student’s professional identity formation during socialization in introductory experiential learning placements to inform the design of future curricular PIF approaches and preceptor development.
The Research Assistant will work with the research team, which consists of researchers and educators from the College of Pharmacy and School of Nursing at Dalhousie University among others.
Duties:
Literature review and summarizing
Recruit and communicate with participants
Download written reflections from course learning management system
Schedule and conduct interviews
Review transcriptions
Assist with data analysis
Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and manuscripts
Other tasks as required
Qualifications and Experience:
Research-based Masters or in progress, in relevant field (e.g., social or health sciences, applied health services research) or equivalent
Excellent communication skills with experience in conducting interviews
Experience with qualitative research, including qualitative data analysis
Excellent writing and organizational skills
Experience with collaborative research an asset
Ability to work independently, as well as within a collaborative, interprofessional team environment
Experience with Microsoft Office, database search engines, qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo ), and/or reference management software (e.g., RefWorks)
Part time: Approximately 8 hours/week for 42 weeks (hours flexible, with more time required some weeks than others)
Rate: $25-28/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience
Start Date: April 30,th 2022
