Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's (IRCC) International Mobility Program provides a streamlined process for inviting certain categories of foreign researchers, including visiting research students, to Dalhousie University.
The process requires Dalhousie to submit details regarding the visit and/or employment directly to IRCC and pay a $230.00 employer compliance fee. Dalhousie is regularly audited by IRCC to ensure that the University and supervisors meet the terms and conditions of the visit as submitted to IRCC.
Groups that are impacted at Dalhousie University include all foreign visiting research students, including DFATD scholars and MITACS Globalink research interns and awards recipients. Groups that are impacted also include faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, visiting professors, research associates, clinical trainees and others.
The International Centre, in partnership with the Office of Research Services and Faculty of Graduate Studies would like to invite all faculty and administrative staff to an important information session about the International Mobility Program and the immigration and applications processes involving foreign visiting research students.
