Note from Facilities Management on potential impact of shipping delays

Posted by Facilities Management on April 19, 2021 in General Announcements

As we are all aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a remarkable effect on mass production and shipping industries around the world.  Food, medicine, building supplies and other necessities have been tied up in ports, sitting in warehouses due to shortages of shipping containers, or scarce in supply due to plant closures and/or lack of resources.  As a result, prices of these items have been steadily increasing, putting additional strain on finances and budgets in homes and in business.

With this in mind, please note that some Facilities Management activities and projects are feeling the impact of these unavoidable delays as we await the arrival of material required to complete various jobs on campus.  While the goal for all projects is to keep on track and within budget, FM Project Managers are keeping a close eye on schedules and costs, and are maintaining the lines of communication with administrators and managers of the areas affected when unavoidable changes to projects are necessary.  You will be contacted if your project plan and/or timeline becomes affected.

Your patience and understanding is requested during these unprecedented times and is very much appreciated.  If you have any questions regarding your project which are not addressed in this notice, please reach out to your project manager.
