Position:

Registered Veterinarian Technician required to assist Instructors in the Veterinary Technology Program during the 2021 winter semester.

Department Location:

Haley Institute, Dalhousie Agricultural Campus

Pay rate: $25.00/hour

Work Assignment:

Responsibilities of the position include competency in companion animal anesthesia. The incumbent will be comfortable applying their skills and knowledge in multiple areas including the veterinary hospital setting, clinical pathology and anatomy teaching labs. The incumbent will be responsible for lab set up and clean up, provide assistance to Instructors through supervision of students in labs and clinics, and will be required to monitor students for health checks.

Requirements of Position:

Registered Veterinarian Technician eligible to work in Nova Scotia and a graduate from an accredited Veterinary Technology program.  Minimum of 3 years experience in companion animal private practice.  Must be competent in companion animal surgical assisting, routine clinical pathology procedures, Veterinary nursing procedures such as blood collection, anesthesia and radiology.  Excellent computer, oral and written communication skills is required.  Be familiar with lab safety guidelines and work independently as required.
