The Dal Bookstore locations on the Truro and Halifax campuses are welcoming back students and staff into their stores beginning today, although with limited hours and some protective measures in place. 

The Halifax Bookstore located on the bottom floor of the Student Union Building can now have up to 10 customers at a time in its merchandise area to allow for social distancing. Meanwhile, the Bookstore location in Jenkins Hall on the Agricultural campus is limited to one shopper at a time. And in accordance with public health orders and university safety protocols, masks are required at all times. 

"We are thrilled to re-open our stores again, although like businesses everywhere we have to ensure that staff and customers have enough space to move around while maintaining two metres apart at all times," said the Dal Bookstore’s operations manager, David Barkhouse. 

Due to the store’s layout and limited space, the textbook area will remain closed at the Halifax store, though the staff are happy to help any customer who wishes to pick up a textbook in person. 

In addition to the limited number of in-store shoppers, the physical Bookstore locations will also operate under modified hours: ​

• Halifax: Monday – Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. 
• Truro: Monday – Friday, 10 a.m-1 p.m, and 2-4 p.m.

The Halifax Bookstore’s online pick-up location will be moved inside the Student Union Building and near the entrance of the Bookstore. Look for signage to direct you. 

David and the Dal Bookstore team are looking forward to welcoming back customers, just in time for holiday shopping. Look for special promotions on shipping through the webstore, and a brand-new online event to replace Yard Sale – coming at the end of November.
