On Thursday, March 5, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, all faculty and staff are invited to attend an information session about the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) enhancements that were introduced by the Federal Government in 2019. Ken MacDermid, Director, Total Compensation, will provide an overview about the changes to CPP, which are designed to help increase retirement income for working Canadians, and will affect CPP retirement pension, post-retirement benefit, disability pension and survivor's pension.
This information session will be held in the CHEB, Room 170, Carleton Campus, and will also be available via videoconference, DalAnywhere, and recorded for those who are unable to attend. See below for dial-in instructions.
For more details about the CPP enhancements, visit https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/publicpensions/cpp/cpp-enhancement.html.
CPP is a monthly, taxable benefit that replaces part of a person's income when they retire. It is based on their contributions to the CPP, average earnings throughout their working life and the age they decide to start their CPP retirement pension. It is separate from the Dalhousie Pension Plan.
