The Department of Pharmacology at Dalhousie University is seeking to fill a tenure-stream position with an anticipated start date of January 2021 (negotiable).
The successful applicant will have a PhD, or equivalent, and postdoctoral experience (at least two years preferred). Candidates should have a demonstrated record of, or potential for, high-quality research, teaching, and administrative service commensurate with their career stage. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong externally funded research program and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will have expertise in pharmacology and genomics, preferably in research areas such as the integration of genomics and bioinformatics into personalized medicine, pharmacogenomics, application of genomics in clinical pharmacology and effects of genetic variability on drug efficacy, pharmacokinetics or adverse drug reactions. Dalhousie University provides exceptional opportunities for translational genomics research. Both the CIHR Institutes of Genetics and Genome Atlantic are housed in close proximity to the Department of Pharmacology. Applicants should indicate their research alignment with genomics, which is one of the strategic areas within the Faculty of Medicine and in particular, the potential for research interactions with the Centre for Genomics Enhanced Medicine https://www.cgem.ca and the Centre for Comparative Genomics & Evolutionary Bioinformatics http://cgeb.dal.ca .
