The Department of Philosophy at Dalhousie University invites applications for a full-time probationary tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level, effective July 1, 2019. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Areas of specialization: Feminist Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy broadly construed. Areas of competence: Open.

The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an independent research program, teach courses at introductory, intermediate and advanced undergraduate/graduate levels, supervise graduate students, and contribute to the academic administration of the department and faculty. The successful candidate must be able to teach the following half-year courses: Philosophical Issues of Feminism (2^nd year), Contemporary Feminist Theories (3^rd year), Topics in Feminist Philosophy

(4^th year/graduate level), Justice in Global Perspective (2^nd year), Environmental Ethics (2^nd year), Philosophy of Sex and Love (2^nd year), Introduction to Philosophy (1^st year), other classes in Social and Political Philosophy. The typical teaching load in the department is the equivalent of 1 and 2 in the first two years, 2 and 2 thereafter. Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching is required. Applicants must hold (or be about to receive) a PhD in Philosophy. Salary will depend upon qualifications and experience.
