POSITION: Part-Time Academic for ERTH 1080.03 – Geology I (lab sections) for the fall term (September 1 - December 31) of 2018/2019. Please see academic timetable at dal.ca for current course days, times, and locations.
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Earth Sciences, Halifax Campus
PAY RATE: In accordance with CUPE Agreement Local 3912
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The instructor will be responsible for the delivery of the lab component of the course (ERTH 1080) as directed and in collaboration with, the course instructor. Duties include: holding office hours, evaluating students in the lab component, mentoring and managing lab demonstrator/markers, and recording of marks for the course.
The lab instructor will also work closely with, and take direction from, the first year coordinator during planning, development, and delivery of the course. Detailed course description is available in the Undergraduate Calendar (dal.ca) under Earth Sciences.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Minimum MSc in Geology or Earth Sciences with broad expertise in the discipline and relevant teaching experience.
