POSITIONS: Part-time Academic(s) required to teach the following courses during the 2018-2019 academic year

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Physics & Atmospheric Science, Sir James Dunn Building

PAY RATE: As per CUPE, Local 3912 Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENTS:

Fall Term 2018-2019 (September 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018)

1. PHYC 1190 Introduction to Physics

2. PHYC 1451 Astronomy I Stars and Planets

3. PHYC 1600 Understanding Weather

Winter Term 2018-2019 (January 1, 2019 to April 30, 2019)

1. PHYC 1452 Astronomy II Stellar and Galactic Astronomy

2. PHYC 2150 Physics Tools: Experiment

3. PHYC 4180 Nuclear and Particle Physics

4. PHYC 4505 Atmospheric Physics

Duties include full responsibility for teaching. Reasonable office hours should be available to students. All positions report to the Chair of the Department of Physics & Atmospheric Science.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITIONS:

Candidates must have an advanced degree in Physics (MSc or PhD), and must have critical thinking skills and relevant teaching experience at the university level. Excellent computing, organizational, and written communication skills are required.
