Position:
Part-time Academic position teaching course ANSC4004 - The Ecology of Milk Production in Ruminants, in the 2017 Fall semester. Lectures for this course are scheduled for Monday (16:35-17:25) and Tuesday/Thursday (13:35-14:25), with Labs scheduled for Wednesday (12:35-14:25).

Work Assignment: The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and delivering course material related to The Ecology of Milk Production in Ruminants, to a class of 10-15 students. Core concepts to be taught include the examination of milk production, from feed provision for animals to the processing of milk into various products, and the contribution made by the dairy industry in providing sustainable food security for society. The Part-time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class and labs, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation, and lab preparation. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Requirements of Position: At least one year experience teaching in post-secondary education, with excellent oral and written communication skills. A PhD in Ruminant Nutrition or related discipline, or a Master’s degree with two years of experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of experience in a related field are required.

Part-time Academic position, teaching course ANSC2003 (Companion Animal Behavior) in the 2018 winter semester.
Lectures for this course are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 13:25 - 14:25.

Work Assignment: The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and delivering course material related to Companion Animal Behaviour, to a class of 80-100 students which includes students registered in the Diploma of Veterinary Technology, B.Sc. Agriculture, and B.Sc. Bioveterinary Science. Core concepts to be taught include animal training techniques, ontogeny of behavior, body language, socialization and communication, and fearfulness and aggressive behavior. The emphasis is on dogs and cats, with some horse content. This is a lecture/discussion course with no scheduled laboratory period.

The Part-time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

A Ph.D. in animal behavior or related discipline, or a Master’s degree with two years of experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of experience and formal training in companion behavioral work or related discipline is required.
