SALARY / PAY RATE: As per CUPE Collective Agreement (hourly rate)
WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 5103 Movement and Exercise Science (Module 3 of the MScPT Program) (January 09, 2017 to April 30, 2017).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The laboratory demonstrator/instructor will assist the course professor by teaching physical assessment, documentation, and treatment practical skills and techniques in the laboratory component of this module for Year I MSc PT students. The laboratory instructor will also act as an examiner in final practical exams and evaluate the students' performance throughout the course and in these exams. Some additional hours may be required for preparation time and limited meeting time with the professor.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Candidates must be licensed Physiotherapists. A Master’s degree with a research focus in human movement science is preferred along with strong clinical expertise in the musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 6108.12 – Integrated Practice (Module 8 of the MScPT program) (February 21, 2017 to May 31, 2017).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Numerous instructors will be required to assist the module leader by teaching practical skills and techniques in the laboratory, and /or facilitating tutorial components of this 2nd year MScPT module. The level of instructor involvement will vary. For example, instructors may be involved in 1 or 2 labs per module or several lab and/or tutorial sessions per week. This will depend on the instructor’s level of skill, type of expertise required, and availability. The instructor may also act as an examiner in the mid-term and final practical exams and evaluate the students’ performance throughout the course and in these exams.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 5105.12 Musculoskeletal (January 09, 2017 to April 30, 2017).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The laboratory demonstrator/instructor will assist the course professor by teaching lab material to Year I MSc PT students in practical/lab sessions. Lab handouts will be available electronically that cover the hands-on practical clinical skills of the various physical assessments as well as the various treatment approaches from acute care to discharge.
Numerous lab instructors will be required to cover the multiple lab and tutorial sessions. The level of lab instructor involvement would be varied. For example, it could be 1 or 2 labs per module or 1 to 2 lab sessions per week. This would depend on the instructor’s level of skill, availability and the type of expertise required (inpatient orthopaedics, manual therapy skills). Laboratory instructors will also be asked to act as an examiner in mid-term and final practical exams (must be available all day Wednesday, April 13).
Further detail regarding the layout of the module, specific hours and content of the various laboratory sessions will be forwarded to interested individuals upon receipt of the application form.
